How our discounts work
On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare. Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin and grade. When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.-

Editorial Director of Saga Magazine, Louise Robinson

Louise started her career on the Express and Echo in Exeter over 35 years ago. She then moved to Fleet Street and worked on the news and features desks of The Daily and Sunday Express, before being appointed Editor of S Magazine, the Sunday Express colour supplement, where she spent 15 very happy years. She took the helm of Saga Magazine, the UK's bestselling subscription magazine, four years ago, and the interaction she enjoys with her wonderfully engaged readers, who are all over 50, has made it the most enjoyable role of her career so far. Louise is never happier than taking cruises with her family (she has been on more than 50!) and one of the many, many great things about being at Saga is access to their two beautiful ships.
During this cruise Louise will join an on-aboard Q&A session.

Cadiz, Spain
Arrive 0900. Depart 1700.
3,000-year-old Cadiz is Western Europe’s oldest continually inhabited city, having been founded by the ancient seafaring Phoenicians. It sits along a peninsula, and was refortified in the 17th-century after the British attacked twice, nearly destroying the city.
Key landmarks include the Baroque and neoclassical cathedral with its yellow dome and the adjoining El Sagrario, the Roman amphitheatre, Castillo de Santa Catalina and the Torre Tavira – one of 129 watchtowers dotted throughout the city.
Optional excursion
Visit the historic city of Seville located beside the Guadalquivir River.

Arrecife, Lanzarote
Arrive 0900. Depart 1700.
Named in Spanish after the reef that edges its shoreline, peaceful Arrecife has been the island’s capital since it took the title from nearby Teguise in 1852. This relatively sleepy port’s origins can be seen in the whitewashed fishermen cottages and 17th-century church set around the coastal lagoon of El Charco de San Gines. From Arrecife, you can discover the vast lava fields and crater-studded landscapes of Timanfaya National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Optional excursion
Head to Fire Mountain in Timanfaya National Park and enjoy a BBQ cooked on natural volcanic heat.

Santa Cruz, Tenerife
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
Tenerife is crowned by the World Heritage Site, Mount Teide. Its capital Santa Cruz has a mix of old and new sights, from the central square of Plaza de Espana, which was built in 1929 to the auditorium, an expressionist structure that resembles a wave.

Optional excursions
Combine a visit to UNESCO-listed La Laguna with a walk through the laurel trees of Mercedes Forest.

San Sebastian, La Gomera
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
It was in La Gomera that Christopher Columbus readied his ships for his New World adventures. Local legend holds that he took mass in La Asuncion church and water from a well at the manor Pozo de la Aguada, which displays exhibits on the explorer’s expeditions. One of the oldest remaining structures is the stone Torre del Conde tower which protected the wife of the island’s first governor, Hernan Peraza, when ill-treated islanders rebelled in 1488.
Optional excursions
Explore the unspoilt forests of Garajonay National Park, home to such rare indigenous wildlife as the Gomeran lizard and Gomeran skint.

Santa Cruz, La Palma
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
La Palma is the greenest of the Canaries and large tracts of its laurel forests have been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The capital, Santa Cruz, is set in a sweeping natural amphitheatre and was a hub for New World explorers and merchant traders during the Age of Exploration. Its history is reflected in the 16th-century Castilian architecture and the old quarter with its wooden balconies and cobbled lanes is set around the Renaissance Plaza Espana.
Included excursion
An included panoramic excursion offers a relaxing way to see some of the highlights.
Optional excursions
Venture into Los Tilos Forest, one of the world’s last Laurisilva forests, and enjoy a scenic coastal walk.

Funchal, Madeira
