Tenerife Cruises
Cruise to Tenerife in 2025
The sunshine isle of Tenerife is a popular highlight in our collection of Canary Islands cruises. While it’s famous for its soft sandy beaches, there’s so much more to the Canaries’ largest island.
Set off to explore the volcanic and natural attractions on our unique excursions. Or stay near the ocean in the Tenerife cruise port of Santa Cruz, famous for its seafood and modernist architecture. The centre is around one mile away from the cruise terminal and can be reached on foot.
Why should you cruise to Tenerife?
Teide National Park
Just over 20 miles from Santa Cruz, in the heart of the island, you’ll find Teide National Park, the largest and oldest of the Canaries’ four national parks. Surrounded by lava flows, pine forests and wildflowers, at the centre is the World Heritage Site, Mount Teide, the highest volcano in the world which rises almost 25,000 feet from the ocean floor.
Year-round sunshine
With so many landscapes found on one island, Gran Canaria offers plenty of adventurous experiences, such as a hike around the 3,000-year-old volcanic crater, Bandama Caldera and a Jeep tour up the Arucas Mountain.
Volcanic scenery
Tenerife is the largest island in the archipelago and is known for its volcanic scenery, beautiful beaches and stargazing opportunities.
Sightseeing
Tenerife's capital Santa Cruz has a mix of old and new sights and can be reached on foot from the cruise terminal.

Mount Teide by Cable Car
Mount Teide in Cañadas del Teide National Park is the highest mountain in all of the Spanish territories. The impressive peak and surrounding arid landscape offers breathtaking panoramic views and by taking the cable car to the peak, you’ll capture the national park from 11,660 feet above sea level.
Whale Watching
Head out into the ocean for a thrilling wildlife-watching experience aboard a catamaran. An expert guide will point out the marine mammals such as pilot whales, sperm whales and dolphins, before free time for sea swimming. The waters surrounding the Canary Islands are teeming with a variety of sea life, so this excursion is a popular choice among our excursions in Tenerife.
Mercedes Forest and Pretty La Laguna
Enjoy a drive along Maritime Avenue to the village of San Andrés, one of the island’s oldest settlements dating back to 1497. The village is renowned for its golden beach, Las Teresitas, which was made partly from 238,000 tons of sand imported from the former Spanish Sahara. Pause for photographs here before driving on to El Bailadero, the highest point in this area, offering panoramic views of a wild landscape.
Through a tunnel, you then reach the other side of the Anaga Mountains and the hidden village of Taganana, where you stop to sample some local wine and cheese. Once refreshed, continue through the living museum of Mercedes Forest to Pico del Ingles, the Mirador del Carmen and Cantera: all offering more views of the wild countryside and northern coast.
Tea at the Orchid Garden
This excursion in Tenerife begins with a scenic drive through the stunning inland landscapes of Tenerife, including the Oratava Valley.
Then enter the beautiful Orchid Gardens. Established in 1774, the gardens are home to an ancient dragon tree believed to be over 400 years old, and of course a collection of orchids. Explore here and enjoy refreshments in the sunshine.
