Travel by coach into central Trier. See the ancient Roman Bridge and the 'Moselle cranes', which were built in the 14th century to aid with loading the cargo into the ships using the river. Transfer by coach to Bernkastel-Kues and spend a morning in this pretty Moselle town. Among the sights are the St Nikolaus Hospital, the parish church of St Michael with its Gothic slate tower, and the historic market square in the old town, which is lined with historic half-timbered houses. Enjoy time to explore independently and take a trip on the Land Train, passing the scenery of the Moselle cultural landscape as you journey through Bernkastel-Kues.
