Las Palmas, Gran Canaria
This port city spills out along the ocean and has many world-class attractions, such as the Maspalomas Sand Dunes. Located on the south coast of Gran Canaria, these dunes are a protected area covering five square kilometres. On top of this, Las Palmas is geographically known to have one of the world’s most pleasant climates.

When to cruise the Canaries
They’re famous as one of the world’s top winter sun cruise destinations. So of course, the best time to visit the Canary Islands is autumn and winter, when it starts to get cooler here in the UK. The Canaries’ weather stays mild all year round, which is why our ships feature a calendar of winter sun cruises to make the most of the sunshine!

Often described as the ‘floating garden in the Atlantic’, Madeira is a welcome port of call on all our Canary Island cruises. From Funchal, you can explore the island’s beautiful botanical gardens or levada walking trails.
Mainland Spain
While the Canaries have a Spanish flavour, some cruises also make a stop on the mainland, to explore fascinating places such as Cartagena, Cadiz and Barcelona.
Morocco
Step back in time to the ancient souks of Marrakech and Casablanca to hone your bargaining skills, or visit some of these city’s magnificent mosques. It’s an exotic side to some of our Canaries cruises.
Portugal
Some of our Canary Island cruises also stop at Portugal to break up your voyage down south. Ports of call include the vibrant and cultural capital, Lisbon, or the riverside city of Oporto, famous for its fortified wine.
West Africa
You can also join a longer voyage that visits the Canaries and the shores of West Africa, including ports such as Gambia and Senegal. Also discover the region’s oldest European city, Dakar.
