Northern Lights
Hello from Discovery.
During my tenure here at Saga I have received numerous letters and cards from all of you, our guests. These are always appreciated and shared with our teams shipboard and shoreside.
This week, on our Artic Norway and the Northern lights cruise, Noel and Winnow Hardy kindly shared the following musings with me. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
ARCTIC SNOW.
Sunlit
Swathes of
Scintillating
Snow
Slip
Silently into the
Frozen Fjord.
Cold winds
Pristine as
Pins
Pierce
Protective skins of
Woollen
Warmth as we
Navigate the
Sun decks of our
Slimline ship.
ON BOARD SHIP
Ethereal, subdued lighting
Floods
pellucid water
In the pool
Lapping around us
as surely the sea
rocks our sturdy ship.
Approaching the
Arctic Circle
The chill begins to bite.
Winds cut the
Warmth
From the curtains in our room.
As bed promises
Balm in the night
An embracing
Delight.
Kind Regards
Captain Darin Bowland, MSc
