Spirit of Discovery
Step aboard our luxury boutique cruise ship, Spirit of Discovery – the newest and most elegant vessel in Saga’s fleet.
Spirit of Discovery is the first small ship built for the British market since the turn of the millennium, with all-balcony luxury cabins and 109 single cabins.
Around the ship
The ship's design has been inspired by some of the world’s most chic hotels, but with a quintessentially British feel. Its tasteful spaces include the Britannia Lounge, Living Room and Spa, where you can relax and unwind.
Lovers of the arts and literature can enjoy the peace and quiet of the Library or take in a performance in the Playhouse theatre.
Dine in style
There are five opulent dining areas, each serving fine cuisine from the on-board Executive Chefs. These including the Grand Dining Room, East to West Asian restaurant, Coast to Coast seafood restaurant and The Club by Jools – a steakhouse speciality restaurant and evening music club. Best of all, all dining is included at no extra charge, even wines and tips are included.
Inspired by the great music lounges of the 1950s, The Club by Jools will be the place to enjoy live performances, cocktails and dining, with resident and guest musicians entertaining until late.
Saga Sapphire is operating its final season of cruises is 2019/2020 so now’s the time to book and experience all she has to offer. She may be small, but the standard cabins are some of the largest seen on the ocean wave.
Our award-winning boutique ship was crowned 'best for small ship dining' at the Cruise Critic awards and certainly lives up to its title. With three fine dining restaurants serving a range of stunning dishes from around the globe, and all-inclusive drinks on board*, it’s perfect for those who simply love to wine and dine.
If you prefer something more intimate than dining in East to West, Pole to Pole or Verandah, you can take advantage of our 24-hour room service and enjoy all the culinary delights in the comfort of your own cabin.
*For all 2018/2019 cruises on Saga Sapphire.
Relax on board
In addition to fantastic dining areas, Saga Sapphire has numerous spaces where you can relax on board. The Drawing Room is a library and a coffee shop combined and the Britannia Lounge is a charming place to relax.
For passengers preferring something a little more indulgent, there’s the Aqua Spa, offering a range of treatments and pampering experiences.
If you just want to enjoy a cool drink in the bar, you can choose from the ship's poolside Beach Club, or Cooper’s Bar – a quirky tribute to the late Tommy Cooper.
