Spirit of Discovery blog

Pori

27th August, 2019

Well we are still blessed with the weather in the Gulf of Bothnia as we slow steamed down towards Pori yesterday. We hosted our newcomers party and it was great to welcome all to our Saga Family.

We picked up the pilot this morning for Pori at 7am and we were alongside our berth ready with the gangway at 8am. What a glorious day and clear blue skies. We yet again broke the record for the port as being the largest cruise ship here – the mighty Spirit of Discovery. Many tours ashore today including some nice beach tours to Yyteri beach – perfect day. Many guests exploring ashore via the shuttle bus, many in shorts and with sun tan lotion on – fantastic!

Just before 5pm and we departed our berth, turning around just at the face of the dock and exited the inner harbour. Full steam ahead to the other side of the Baltic and the Norwegian Coast.

A great day today and took a great photo of the sunset at the stern.
