On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each level at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected levels. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold.
This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare.
Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin.
When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.

Enjoy the scenery and culture of Central Europe
This leisurely all-inclusive river cruise in 2025 combines time to relax on board Spirit of the Rhine with time to explore the cultural gems of Central Europe.

Then, continue your river cruise to Cologne, arriving in the evening. A full day in the city gives you time to see some of the Cologne’s highlights, such as the twin-spired gothic cathedral, on an included walking tour which also ventures along the cobbled streets and up hill to the Alter Markt.
Sail overnight to Boppard, with its Roman remains and medieval fortifications, and enjoy an included wine tasting on board before cruising to Mainz, known for its medieval market squares and St Stephen’s church, which features stained glass windows by artist Marc Chagall.
Itinerary
Spirit of the Rhine
Travel to Mainz and embark Spirit of the Rhine.
Depart Mainz, 0900. Arrive Rüdesheim, 1200.
Cruise the Rhine River to the popular wine town of Rüdesheim, known for its traditional old town of half-timbered houses and terraced vineyards. Among its main attractions is the Drosselgasse, a long narrow street lined on both sides with traditional wine taverns, overlooked by the glockenspiel tower with its hourly chimes.
Enjoy an included excursion to Siegfried’s Museum of Mechanical Music.
Depart Rüdesheim, 0900. Scenic Cruise, Middle Rhine Gorge.
Arrive Koblenz, 1300.
Enjoy a relaxing morning cruising through the UNESCO-listed scenery of the Middle Rhine Gorge, passing the fabled Lorelei Rock en route towards Koblenz, which sits at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers.
At the exact point where the two rivers meet, the Deutsches Eck, there is a monument with a huge equestrian statue of Emperor Wilhelm I. Above the town sits the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, a citadel built by the Prussians between 1816 and 1832.
Depart Koblenz, 1300.
Arrive Cologne, 2000.
Following a morning in Koblenz, when you may choose to walk into the town, spend a relaxing afternoon on board Spirit of the Rhine as she sails along the Rhine River towards Cologne.
Depart 2000.
Founded by the Romans, Cologne has long been an important trading centre and was once home to the composers Schumann and Mendelssohn. The city’s main attraction is the twin-spired Gothic cathedral which dominates the skyline. There are also baroque palaces, medieval churches and a 16th-century City Hall.
See some of the highlights during an included walking tour of the city. Venture into the medieval Old Town, home to characteristic churches and guilds, and visit the Alter Markt, which is reached uphill over cobblestones. After your excursion you have the opportunity to go inside the cathedral independently and admire the intricate Gothic architecture.
Continue sailing this evening and overnight.
Depending on the distance of the ship’s berth from Cologne, a complimentary transfer service into the city may be available.
Arrive Boppard, 0900. Depart 1700.
Arrive Mainz, 0000.
The waterfront of this classic Rhineland wine town is overlooked by the twin towers of St Severus Church and vineyards. There are extensive Roman remains, medieval fortifications and half-timbered buildings.
This afternoon, on board Spirit of the Rhine, you can enjoy an included wine tasting session before departing for Mainz.
Mainz is known for its medieval market squares, half-timbered houses, Romanesque sandstone cathedral and St Stephen’s church, which features stained glass windows by renowned artist Marc Chagall. Behind the cathedral in Gutenbergplatz square is a statue of the father of modern printing Johannes Gutenberg, who was born in Mainz in the 14th century.
