On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each level at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected levels. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold.
This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare.
Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin.
When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.

Visit the Canaries during carnival
Call at ancient Cádiz when our sister ships, Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure are both in port, then continue on your all-inclusive cruise to the Canary Islands, via Gibraltar.
Look forward to exploring Lanzarote’s charming capital Arrecife, with its coastal lagoon and quaint fishermen’s cottages, and Santa Cruz de la Palma, where the cobbled lanes of the old quarter are set around a Renaissance Plaza overlooked by traditional wooden balconies.
Extended visits to Tenerife and Madeira have been timed to coincide with the islands’ colourful carnival processions, so you can enjoy the opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere, music and costumes of this special event.

Itinerary
Embark Spirit of Discovery.
Depart 1700.
Arrive 0800. Depart 2100.
Visit Cádiz when our sister ships Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure are both in port. 3,000-year-old Cádiz is Western Europe’s oldest continually inhabited city since its founding by the ancient seafaring Phoenicians. It is strung along a peninsula, and was refortified in the 17th-century after the British attacked twice, nearly destroying the city. Key landmarks include the Baroque and neoclassical cathedral with its yellow dome and the adjoining El Sagarario, the Roman amphitheatre, Castillo de Santa Catalaina and the Torre Tavira – one of 129 watchtowers dotted throughout the city.
Included excursion
See some of the city’s attractions, both old and new, during an included excursion.
Optional excursions
Enjoy a day trip to Seville or explore Cádiz on foot with a local guide.
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
Watching over the entrance to the Mediterranean, stands the unmistakable limestone Rock of Gibraltar. At its base lies Gibraltar which is connected to the end of the Iberian Peninsula by a sandy isthmus and offers an intriguing blend of British and Spanish culture. Discover Gibraltar’s Palladian architecture and typically British sights, such as red pillar boxes and familiar highstreet chains. Alternatively, visit the military museum or ascend the limestone monolith by cable car for panoramic views and to meet the mischievous Barbary macaques. From the top of the Rock you can look out over two continents: Africa lies just 13 miles to the south, whilst Europe stretches to the north.
Included excursion
Uncover Gibraltar’s quirky British charm on an included excursion.
Optional excursion
Go in search of dolphins and other marine life in Gibraltar’s bay.
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
Named in Spanish after the reef that edges its shoreline, peaceful Arrecife has been the island’s capital since it took the title from nearby Teguise in 1852. This relatively sleepy port’s origins can be seen in the whitewashed fishermen cottages and 17th-century church set around the coastal lagoon of El Charco de San Gines. From Arrecife, you can discover the vast lava fields and crater-studded landscapes of Timanfaya National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Included excursion
Enjoy the scenery on a choice of included excursion.
Optional excursions
Visit northern Lanzarote and the Jameos del Agua Cave, or perhaps head to Timanfaya National Park.
Arrive 1300 on February 14. Depart 1600 on February 15.
Madeira is a verdant, mountainous island formed from a volcanic eruption and known for its namesake wine. Often described as the ‘floating garden in the Atlantic’, the island is home to the world’s largest laurel forest and Botanical Gardens where exotic indigenous plants grow. An overnight visit gives you time to experience the lively atmosphere and colourful costumes of carnival, which will be in full swing here in Funchal.
Included excursion
See more of Funchal on a choice of included excursion.
Optional excursions
Join marine biologists for a RIB ride in search of whales and dolphins, or explore the island by sidecar or jeep.
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
La Palma is the greenest of the Canaries and large tracts of its laurel forests have been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The capital, Santa Cruz, is set in a sweeping natural amphitheatre and was a hub for New World explorers and merchant traders during the Age of Exploration. Its history is reflected in the 16th-century Castilian architecture and the old quarter with its wooden balconies and cobbled lanes is set around the Renaissance Plaza Espana.
Included excursion
An included excursion offers a relaxing way to see some of the highlights.
Optional excursions
Visit the historic sugar producing farm of La Hacienda and learn more about the traditions of silk making at the Silk Museum; join a scenic off-road adventure; or explore Los Tilos Forest.
Arrive 0800. Depart 2300.
Tenerife is crowned by the World Heritage Site, Mount Teide. Its capital Santa Cruz has a mix of old and new sights, from the central square of Plaza de Espana, which was built in 1929 to the auditorium, an expressionist structure that resembles a wave. Your visit coincides with the island’s vibrant carnival, said to rival that of Rio de Janeiro, which parades through the main avenue of Santa Cruz near the port.
Included excursion
Explore further on a choice of included excursion.
Optional excursions
Take a cable car to the summit of Mount Teide, or enjoy tea at the Orchid Garden.
