Windmills in Kinderdijk

This morning you can explore Schoonhoven on an optional guided walk before cruising to Kinderdijk. Here you’ll enjoy an included visit to see the UNESCO-listed windmills.

Built between 1722 and 1761, they form the largest park of windmills still in use in the Netherlands. During your excursion you’ll see how a windmill works, learn why they were used and how they have been replaced by modern pump stations.

You’ll also visit the former steam pump station, Wisboom, and the historic waterboard house, plus have the opportunity to walk along the flood wall.

Continue your cruise late this afternoon to arrive in Utrecht later tonight.
