How our discounts work
On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare. Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin and grade. When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.-

Itinerary
Amadeus Elegant

Travel to Amsterdam and embark Amadeus Elegant.

Depart Amsterdam, 0700.
Arrive Zaandam, 0900.
Set on the banks of the Zaan river, the town of Zaandam features distinctly Dutch architecture. The downtown area was completely redesigned in the 2000’s by postmodern Dutch architect Sjoerd Soeters.
From here, an optional excursion visits the historic village of Zaanse Schans. The Zaan region was an industrial area and its hundreds of windmills were used in the production of a wide variety of different items.
See the traditional houses, warehouses, workshops and reconstructed windmills and you'll get an idea of what it was like to live here in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Depart Zaandam, 1400.
Arrive Hoorn, 1900.
From Zaandam, an included excursion visits the city of Alkmaar, where the attractive old centre features historic monuments and numerous museums covering everything from beer and cheese to the Beatles.
The city is famous for its traditional Cheese Market where bartering traders and farmers negotiate the prices of cheese in a ritual that has been taking place here for over 400 years and your visit will coincide with this event.

Depart Hoorn, 1400.
Arrive Amsterdam 1800.
The harbour town of Hoorn, once home to the founders of the Dutch East India Company, boasts many historic buildings, such as the State Council building, as a result of its early seafaring wealth.

This morning you can join an included cruise along Amsterdam’s iconic canals to the city centre with its historic bridges and gabled houses.
See the famous Skinny Bridge, the Montelbaanstoren tower and the Jewish Quarter.
Disembark Amadeus Elegant and begin your return journey.
