This snapshot tour introduces you to the capital of the Costa del Sol, Malaga. The contrast between the old town and the modern industrial port has created a city rich in architectural variation.

Having passed the extensive beachfront, the Gilbralfaro Hill is your first destination. Here, your views extend past the bull ring, flanked by modern high-rise buildings, and out across the port and the city. Leaving the hill, spot the Fountain of Three Faces, surrounded by symbols of fertility.

The next destination is the Jardines de Puerta Oscura, or ‘Dark Entrance Gardens’. Here, the rugged hillside has been transformed into a luscious garden with several rose varieties. As you continue your snapshot tour of the city, see the old post office and the Bank of Spain before crossing the river Guadalmedina.

Your final visit is to Malaga’s early 19th-century lighthouse - La Farola. It is the perfect position to capture an alternative snapshot of the city.

Leaving Valletta by coach you'll travel towards the Blue Grotto on route to Ghar Lapsi, a seaside spot known for its clear waters and rugged coastline.

Your tour continues to the Dingli Cliffs where you can enjoy a short stop and capture the view over the Mediterranean Sea. Back on the coach, head north through rural and agricultural landscapes, passing Malta’s Old Capital, Mdina and the town of Mgarr. Uncover the sights of the fishing village of Marsaxlokk at your own pace on this excursion of independent exploration. After a 30-minute drive from Valletta to Marsaxlook you will be dropped off in Marsaxlokk, where you will have 90 minutes to explore at your leisure.

During your free time you may like to browse the open market, take a stroll along the picturesque bay where colourful fishing boats bob in the water or just relax and with a coffee in one of the cafes. After your free time here, return to your coach for the drive back to Valletta.

Begin your panoramic coastal tour with a drive to Jadranska. Here, you will stop and enjoy an impressive view across the old town, the old harbour and Lokrum Island. The drive continues along the coast to Zupa Dubrovacka, a popular summer resort.

Next, head to the Bay of Rijeka Dubrovacka, a fjord-like valley known for its 15th and 16th-century Renaissance summer residences. The marina here is often filled with luxury yatchs. The drive continues west, enjoy views of the many tourist resorts before pausing at the Dubrovnik Bridge for a photo stop. Then continue back to your ship.

Explore the UNESCO-listed town of Trogir, a gem on the Adriatic Sea known for its wealth of Romanesque, Renaissance and Baroque architecture. Founded in the 3rd century BC as a Greek trading colony, Trogir is situated on a small island nestled between the mainland and the larger island of Ciovo.

Cross over the bridge linking Trogir to the mainland to begin your adventure. Set behind its medieval walls you will find a wealth of historic buildings, including its triple-nave cathedral, which was first consecrated in 1213.

You can opt to join the guide on a short walking tour followed by some free time, or if you would prefer to explore independently there is also the opportunity to discover Trogir completely at your own pace. Stroll its tree-lined waterfront boulevard, see the 14th-century Venetian fortress of Kamerlengo, and browse the wares at Trogir’s bustling market.

Take a sightseeing drive through Cagliari, the capital of Sardinia, to explore the city’s medieval past. You begin by passing the Basilica of Bonaria, continuing to the top of Urpinu Mount for a photo stop. From here you can view the Devil’s Saddle, an iconic panorama. Next, you will see Poetto beach, consisting of white sand that stretches over six miles. The drive continues to the upper part of Cagliari, overlooked by its 12th-century castle, and along Buoncammino avenue passing in front of the San Remì Bastion, until arriving at Piazza Yenne, a small square in the Marina district, for a short stop before returning to the port.

This excursion provides an introduction into the heart and surroundings of Malaga. Your guide will bring Malaga’s past and present to life on a panoramic tour of the city.

Driving past the sub-tropical gardens of the park to the bullring in the eastern side of the city, your coach will wind its way to Gibralfaro Castle, where a short photo-stop will be made at a scenic viewpoint. Going back down into the city, leave the coach and walk to the Flamenco venue.

After a short introduction enjoy some authentic flamenco music and dancing, accompanied by a ‘tapa’ and a glass of Malaga wine. The industry has flourished for centuries: vast numbers of pottery amphorae bearing the names of Spanish oil farms have been uncovered in the ruins of ancient Rome.

After visiting the mill, you will be immersed in Spanish life as you visit a Spanish family for a tour of their home and garden before setting down to a five–course meal of tapas, soup, meat, cakes, coffee and liqueurs. The idea behind this concept is to offer a genuine Spanish experience with home-cooked food, a welcoming atmosphere and the chance to interact with a real Spanish family. Discover the city of Ronda, known for its unique location, emblematic bridge and interesting history. Your tour starts as you leave the port of Malaga and head inland to reach the Serrania de Ronda craggy mountains.

Arriving in Ronda you will start your visit with a walking tour of this Moorish city with its narrow, cobbled streets and windows covered with elaborate wrought-iron grilles. The cathedral incorporates the remains of a mosque, and many of the old houses bear on their façades the coats-of-arms of former aristocratic owners.

Also see the Puente Nuevo Bridge, which joins the old city to the Mercadillo. Visit the interior of the bullring, which is the second-oldest in Spain. Enjoy some free time for shopping or relax in the park before your lunch, which is included at a local restaurant, before heading back to Malaga via San Pedro de Alcantara and the coastal highway.

This excursion visits the picturesque village of Mijas, located at the foothills of the Sierra, and the resort town of Marbella.

Start your tour with a transfer to Marbella, where you will have a guided walk around the old town. See the Plaza de Los Naranjos, the City Hall and the Nuestra Señora de Ia Encarnacion church. You will also have some free time to shop or simply relax.

Next, continue to Mijas, a typical Andalusian village perched high above Fuengirola and Mijas Costa. During your visit you will explore the town, a web of narrow cobbled streets lined with whitewashed houses with red-tile roofs.

Walk, with your guide, through this charming village passing the bullring and the church, browse the handicraft shops and the locally made ceramics and leather goods. You will also have some time at leisure here before returning to the ship by bus.

Depart the pier and head west to the traditional town of Alhaurin el Grande, around 22 miles from Malaga. Here you will visit Molino la Paca, surrounded by the Sierra de Mijas hills, to learn about olive oil production.

It takes around seven to nine years for olive trees to produce quality olives that are ready to be harvested. Methods of harvesting have changed over time from traditional manual picking to a mechanical process, improving efficiency and profitability. There is the opportunity to enjoy a tasting of the delicious extra virgin olive oil, served with bread, while you learn about olive oil classification based on acidity levels.

Afterwards, continue towards the picturesque village of Mijas. Here you will have the opportunity to explore at your leisure, wandering through its cobbled streets adorned with whitewashed houses, quaint shops, and panoramic vistas of the Mediterranean coastline. Finally, re-board your coach for the return drive to the ship.

In Mijas, you will have approximately 50 minutes of free time; walking here is at your discretion. Explore the mysteries of the ancient Tarxien Temples and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hagar Qim. Travel by coach to Malta’s southern town of Tarxien to visit its famous temples. Discovered by farmers in 1913, the Tarxien Temples date back to 3150 BC and offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Malta's prehistoric civilisation.

The journey continues to the equally impressive Hagar Qim. These megalithic structures date back 6,000 years, predating the pyramids of Egypt and making them among the most ancient sacred sites on Earth. Start your visit with a short audio-visual presentation in the visitor centre.

Then proceed to the Hagar Qim Temples. The purpose of these mysterious structures is the subject of much debate. With a guide you will proceed to view the Mnajdra Temples – perhaps the best preserved and most evocative of Malta’s prehistoric sites. Your tour continues with a scenic drive along the scenic Dingli Cliffs, offering a panoramic view of Malta's rugged coastline. Enjoy a scenic ride from Valletta through the pretty towns and villages of Malta to Mdina. Known as the ‘Silent City’, it is the former capital of Malta and one of the finest ancient walled cities in the world. Walk through part of it and see the many handsome buildings and narrow streets, palaces and museums.

You first visit the Baroque Cathedral of St Peter and St Paul, rebuilt at the end of the 17th century, and then continue to the bastions for a panoramic view of the island. Next, travel to Mosta Square, admiring the Mosta Dome which crowns the Church of the Assumption. During World War Two, a shell penetrated the dome but landed unexploded on the church floor. Spend some time here and see a replica of the bomb, which is housed inside, before returning to the ship.

Continue past the Auberge de Castille, your last stop is at the Barrakka Gardens, located on the highest point of the 16th-century walls.

Visit three of Malta’s Gardens, Barrakka Gardens, St Anton Gardens and Buskett Gardens. Your tour starts by exploring the Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta, renowned for its history, scenery and surroundings. Located on the upper tier of St Peter & Paul Bastion, which was built in the 1560s, here you can admire a panoramic view of the Grand Harbour and the surrounding landscape.

Next, drive to St Anton Gardens, which surround San Anton Palace – the official residence of the President of Malta. These elegant gardens date to the 17th century when each visitor would gift a new plant to the garden’s collection. During your visit take in the array of ancient trees, some of which are more than 300 years old.

Enjoy a soft refreshment before continuing to Buskett Woodlands, one of Malta’s few woodland areas, and an oasis of greenery dedicated to preserving the endemic flora and fauna. Planted by the Knights of Malta, the Buskett Gardens form part of the Verdala Palace, another official residence of the President of Malta. Your tour starts with a short transfer to Sliema, where you will board your boat and set off to visit the ports of Marsamxett and the Grand Harbour. These natural creeks make Valletta one of the most beautiful ports in Europe. The views of the fortifications from the seaward side are unique and a treasure for photographers.

The harbour mouth faces north-east and is bounded to the north by St Elmo’s Point and to the south by Ricasoli Point. Its north-west shore is formed by the Scebarras Peninsula, which is largely occupied by the city of Valletta and its suburb Floriana. A detailed commentary will tell you the history of Valletta and the Three Cities of Birgu, Senglea and Cospicua, with particular emphasis on the two Great Sieges of 1565 and 1942.

Also hear about other places of interest including the historic forts, battlements and creeks that can only be admired from the sea. These include Fort St Angelo, which withstood the Turks during the Great Siege of Malta, and Fort Ricasoli, built by the Knights of Malta between 1670 and 1693. You will also see Manoel Island with its fort, in Marsamxett Harbour, as well as the city walls that surround Valletta.

The first stop of the tour is twenty-storey-high Barrakka Lift. Although rebuilt in 2012, the lift sits on the same site as the original, which operated between 1905 and 1973. Ride the lift 58 metres to the Upper Barrakka Gardens, the highest point of the 16th-century bastion walls that the Knights of St John built to protect the city. Here you can enjoy a view of the Three Cities and the Grand Harbour.

Your walking tour will then take you into the centre of Valletta where your guide will bring to life the history of Malta’s charming capital. Take the opportunity to admire the Mannerist exterior of St John’s Co-Cathedral, which dates back to 1573, before passing the Grand Master’s Palace and President’s Office.

At the end of the tour, your guide will take you back to the ship by taking the lift down to the port.

This tour is entirely on foot and involves walking approximately one-and-a-quarter miles. Flat walking shoes are recommended. The Barrakka Lift is for public use, there may be a queue.

You’ll travel by coach to the Dubrovnik cable car, which first opened in 1969 and has recently been refurbished. The cable car ascends to a height of approximately 1,500 feet and provides vast views over Dubrovnik’s Old Town. At the upper station there is a café, restrooms and souvenir shop, as well as a spacious terrace with coin-operated telescopes where you can admire more of the view.

You’ll head back down to the lower station where you’ll board your coach for the journey to Cavtat. This is considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Dubrovnik region, and as you explore on foot, you’ll see the legacy of its Greek and Roman history and medieval buildings. Afterwards you’ll travel by coach back to your ship.

Travel by coach along the scenic Adriatic Road to Ston – the “Oyster Capital” of Croatia – which is often seen as a delightfully smaller copy of Dubrovnik. The town is surrounded by walls that were built between the 14th and 16th centuries and are considered to be the longest defensive walls in the world. There are ancient salt pans that still produce salt, but it is its oysters which make the town so notable.

In Ston, you’ll board a local boat that will take you to the oyster and mussel beds where you can see the production process, from the initial planting to freshly prepared oysters and mussel buzara that you can taste. Afterwards, you will travel by coach back to Dubrovnik.

Known as the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic’, Dubrovnik awaits your on-foot guided exploration. Experience the pristine natural beauty of Croatia during this scenic half-day excursion to Krka National Park. Journey first through the ‘Karst’ hinterland to the famous river waterfalls of the same name. The park covers an area of approximately 14,200 hectares and is subject to strict laws on natural preservation on account of its richness of endemic species, including vegetation, birds and fish. This excursion will take you to the beautiful Skradinski Buk Waterfall. It is the longest waterfall on the Krka River, cascading over several barriers, the highest fall is 150 feet. Above the falls there is a large plateau that offers a panoramic view. For those wishing to explore further, you can walk along the gravel walking trail looping around the falls before returning to your awaiting ship.

In the park you will need to walk in excess of a mile over gravel, inclines and uneven terrain, with up to 200 steps. Walking in Krka National Park is strenuous and therefore this tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility. Walking during free time is at your discretion. The drive from the ship to Krka National Park takes approximately 75 minutes. We recommend that you wear flat, walking shoes and it is also advisable to wear insect repellent and suncream.

Today’s Split is the product of seventeen centuries of building, renovating and remodelling so that the new of today meshes with the old of yesterday. Split Old Town is built on and around the Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian who was born in Salona in the fourth century.

Your walking tour starts at the port as you head to Diocletian's Palace, here you will pass through the well-preserved cellars of the palace. Next, admire the impressive Cathedral of St Duje, the patron saint of the city. The Cathedral is built on the remains of an ancient shrine and is supposed to be the oldest in the world.

Afterwards, escape the bustle of Split and head to peaceful Solin by coach, where time has seemingly stood still. Here, you will find the ancient site of Salona, a city that was once home to over 40,000 people. Archaeologists have excavated remains of temples, amphitheatres, early Christian churches, burial grounds, and baths here. You will explore this ancient site with your guide and learn how life was lived in antiquity before returning to Split by coach.

A visit to the 300-year-old Church of St Spiridon reveals a priceless collection of icons and gifts offered to the patron saint of the island. Conclude your tour with a visit to the Patounis Factory, a family-run business which produces traditional soap from locally-produced olive products. From here, walk into the historic Old Town of Corfu, passing by various landmarks such as the Old Town Hall (San Giacomo), the 19th-century Palace of St Michael and St George, the Liston, and Spianada Square. Finally, you will visit the 16th-centry Church of St Spyridon, which is dedicated to patron saint of the island and houses his remains, before taking the shuttle bus back to the ship.

Explore the megalithic Nuraghic complex of Su Nuraxi Sardinia’s most important archaeological site. A short coach journey with your guide will take you from the pier, past the Sanctuary of Bonaria, to Monte Urpinu, where your coach will pause for you to take photos.

Afterwards, drive through the fertile Campidano plains, passing through fields of grain and vineyards on route to Barumini. Here, you will visit the archaeological site of Su Nuraxi di Barumini Megalithic defensive structures known as nuraghe. They date from the Middle to Late Bronze Age and are unique to Sardinia.

The complex, which is situated on a plateau, consists of a central tower and four subsidiary circular towers, linked by a huge stone wall curtain. This is surrounded by the remains of a second outer wall and a settlement of circular huts used for religious purposes, meeting places and dwellings.

Next, drive along the south-west coast of Sardinia to Nora, on the road traditionally taken each May by thousands of pilgrims following the trail of St Efisio, a Roman soldier and Christian who was martyred in 303AD by Emperor Diocletian. Nora was founded in the ninth century BC by Phoenician traders and had two harbours. The city enjoyed its greatest prosperity under the Romans but was abandoned around 800AD and has since become partially submerged by the sea. Begin a walking tour of the excavations which will take you to see the ruins visible today, which includes Carthaginian warehouses, Roman baths with mosaic floors, the remains of temples and a well-preserved theatre.

Discover Cagliari by motorcoach and on foot. A guided walk takes you to the Old Quarter of Castello and the Cathedral of Cagliari. Cagliari, the administrative capital of Sardinia, the seat, the Council and the regional Government, is also the main port and the most important commercial and industrial centre on the island.

First, you pass by the Basilica of Bonaria on the way to Monte Urpino, a hill with a panoramic terrace facing the Gulf of Angels on one side and the old town on the other. Next, continue the drive to Cagliari’s Old Quarter of Castello, where you will set off on a walking tour. Pass the medieval building of the Elephant Tower and the twin tower of San Pancrazio, symbols of the city. The Aragonese and the Spaniards gave the town its walls, ramparts, fine buildings and a certain atmosphere that can still be felt today in the wrought iron of the typical balconies in the old districts of Stampace, Marina and Villanova.

A stop will be made at the cathedral, consecrated to St Mary, dating back to the Romanesque period, to which the bell tower belongs; it was subsequently restored and modified in the baroque style in the 17th century. The interior, which is divided into three naves with side chapels, is enriched with baroque furnishings and a raised presbytery, enclosed by a marble balustrade. Under the altar is the Sanctuary, which was excavated in the rock, with three chapels where urns containing relics said to belong to martyrs are kept.

After some time at leisure, reboard the motorcoach for the short return drive to the ship.

Leaving the port, you head to the viewpoint of Bonaria, dominated by the Basilica of Bonaria, which will be viewed from the bus. The drive continues to Monte Urpinu, a hill with a panoramic terrace facing the Gulf of Angels on one side and the old town on the other.

Then, drive past the Naturalistic Park of Molentagius. These salt flats provide a paradise for several bird species, including flamingos. Leaving the town area, drive inland towards the nearby countryside of the Campidano. You will stop here at a local winery to enjoy a tasting of three wines accompanied by local Sardinian snacks, all whilst overlooking the vineyard.

Following your visit, you will be driven back to Cagliari and your awaiting ship.

There is up to approximately 550 yards of essential walking at the venue with 20 steps. Any other walking is at your discretion. There are only two restroom facilities at the venue, one male and one female.
