Lisbon
Take a cruise to Europe and visit the sprawling capital of Portugal, spread across seven hills. It boasts two UNESCO-listed sites – Jeronimos Monastery, where Vasco da Gama is entombed – and Bélem Tower which is built in his honour. Both are well worth exploring.
The Azores

Vigo
This Galician fishing port is perfectly placed to visit Santiago de Compostela. This ancient pilgrimage site is one of Spain’s finest old cities – a treasure trove of Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque buildings. The most famous is the beautiful 11th-century cathedral, said to enshrine the bones of St James the Apostle.
Brest
Visit Brest, set in a natural harbour on Brittany’s Finistere Peninsula. This naval port is a modern city with a strong seafaring past. The medieval tower of Tour Tanguy stands opposite the Chateau while modern sights include the Pont de I'lroise cable bridge and the sprawling Oceanopolis aquarium.
