Chania and Heraklion

Athens & The Acropolis
Our cruises to the Greek Isles include a stop off at the port of Piraeus where you can make the journey to Athens. Enjoy a tour of the city sights with a professional guide before visiting the Acropolis itself. It was on top of this rocky hill in the 5th century BC where the foundations of modern democracy were conceived.
The Acropolis of Lindos
Saga’s Greek Isles cruises call in at Rhodes, where you can delve into this island’s long history. Take in spectacular views from the top of Lindos’ impressive acropolis. One of the oldest sites here is the Temple of Athena Lindia, which dates back to 300 BC, but was built on the grounds of an even earlier temple.
Filerimos and the Grand Master’s Palace
Drive to the top of Mt Filerimos to explore the ancient city of Ialyssos, home to the 15th-century Church of our Lady. Return to the Old Town of Rhodes and continue on foot along the Street of the Knights to the 14th-century Palace of the Grand Masters. Marvel at its opulent interior, frescoes and mosaic-tiled floors.
Phaestos and Gortyn
Begin with a drive to one of the oldest and most influential cities of the Minoans, Gortyn. Visit its acropolis and the Odeum, where the first rule of law was inscribed on stones, the Law Code of Gortyn. Then continue to Phaestos, once the wealthiest and most powerful city in Southern Crete, and enjoy a guided walk.
