On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each level at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected levels. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold.
This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare.
Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin.
When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.

Antiques Roadshow Specialist Wayne Colquhoun (July 23, 2024 departure)
After leaving school Wayne went on to become a specialist in the restoration of historic and listed buildings. He has run an art gallery for over two decades and is an independent consultant. Though Wayne specialises in Art Deco, Art Nouveau and the Applied Arts he also has a general knowledge with over 30 years’ experience.
In 2015 Wayne became a specialist on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow. One of the things that Wayne would dearly love to find on the Antiques Roadshow would be a bronze panther by the sculptor Rembrant Bugatti. During your cruise Wayne will give two on-board talks.
Itinerary
Spirit of the Rhine
Depart 2200.
Travel to Frankfurt and embark Spirit of the Rhine.
Arrive 1200. Depart 1600.
This charming town, once famous for glass production, has a medieval market square lined with colourful half-timbered buildings. Other sights include the intricately carved Angel’s Fountain, 13th-century Pointed Tower, Kittstein Gate and Wertheim Castle overlooking the town.
Arrive 0900. Depart 1300.
An important city in the Middle Ages, Würzburg features numerous baroque buildings erected by the prince-bishops of the Schönborn family in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The Residence Palace, one of Europe’s most renowned baroque castles, was built here between 1720 and 1724 for the prince-bishop Johann Philipp Franz, who commissioned master builder Balthasar Neumann to create the 'palace of all palaces'.
Enjoy an included tour of Würzburg and the Residence Palace.
Arrive 0800. Depart 1200.
Miltenberg is set in the attractive Main valley, between the Odenwald and the Spessart Mountains. The oldest part of the city lies on the left bank of the Main below a steep wooded hill, crowned by a 13th-century castle.
The old town, enclosed within ancient walls and gates, is home to picturesque streets of half-timbered houses and old wine taverns.
Arrive 1300. Depart 2200.
This afternoon an included excursion visits the home of Germany's oldest university, the city of Heidelberg. Highlights include the Old Bridge across the River Neckar and the ruined castle high above the city.
Its unusual appearance is due to it having been added to through different periods of German architectural styles. Virtually destroyed by lightning in 1764 it was ransacked by locals who used stones from it in their own houses!

Kehl is located on the banks of the Rhine river, directly opposite the French city of Strasbourg. The capital of Alsace, Strasbourg, features cobbled streets, medieval architecture and a Gothic cathedral with an astronomical clock.
See some of the highlights of the old quarter on an included excursion and cruise along the city’s canals this morning. You may choose to spend further time exploring Strasbourg independently after your tour before taking our complimentary shuttle service back to Kehl later in the afternoon.
Arrive 0800. Depart 2000.
Take our complimentary shuttle service into Breisach, an important medieval town of the Holy Roman Empire during the 16th century. It's overlooked by a 12th-century cathedral – St Stephansmünster – set high on a hilltop above. Breisach also offers a 'gateway to the Black Forest' and the Alsace.
Arrive 0800.
Basel is located at the meeting point of Switzerland, Germany and France. The oldest part of the city is located near the banks of the Rhine river, and is where you’ll find the cathedral. Other places of interest are the 16th-century Market Square and the late medieval Town Hall.
