This morning make a stop at the peaceful village of Eidfjord, one of the most beautiful highlights of the fjords and gateway to the Hardangervidda Nature Centre and the Voringfossen Waterfall. Surrounded by soaring mountains it comprises lush gardens and fields, clusters of traditional clapboard homes in an array of cheerful colours and two churches, one of which can be dated back to 1309. Perhaps hop on the little train which trundles through town and discover pockets of Eidfjord that you may not have otherwise known were there.

The charming village of Olden is set at the eastern end of Nordfjord. Enjoy exploring the village, perhaps visiting the 18th century church or the home of William Singer – founder of the sewing machine company. Beyond Olden lies the Oldedalen Valley with its waterfalls, and the impressive Briksdal glacier.

Perhaps take the funicular to the peak of Mount Fløyen for panoramic views of the city and beyond, explore the fish market or seek out the museum relating to the Norwegian composer, Grieg.

Lysefjord, Norway

Sail along narrow Lysefjord, passing the famous Kjerag mountain and Pulpit Rock which towers 604 metres over the water. Also cruise through Karmsund, a narrow channel between Karmoey Island and Haugesund and is only passable by smaller ships.
