The cosmopolitan city of Belfast has a long association with ship-building, reinforced by the two gantry cranes that rise above the city known locally known as ‘Samson and Goliath’! The ill-fated liner Titanic was built here and the visitor attraction ‘Titanic Belfast’ explores the story of the ocean liner through a series of interactive galleries. The city is also home to the Ulster Museum as well as Botanic gardens and central Donegal Square. Further afield lies the famous Giant’s Causeway.

Set around a natural harbour, the town of Portree is the capital of the Isle of Skye. Surrounded by hills and beautiful countryside the town was created as a fishing village at the start of the 19th century. Beyond the town lies the Skye Museum and the Aros community Cultural centre, offering an insight into life on the island and the island’s history.

Sturdy little Lerwick is the friendly capital of the 100 islands and islets of the Shetland Islands, which have a rich Viking heritage with a distinct dialect and culture from mainland Scotland. This windswept, sea-lashed archipelago is a lush green haven for birds and also offers some of Scotland's most stunning archaeological remains.

Cruise to the remote Faroe Islands where you can discover an unruly landscape of contorted, grass-clad mountains, jagged cliffs and wild seascapes. Arrive at the quaint capital of Tórshavn, one of the smallest and most pleasant capital cities in the world. Venture into Tinganes, the old part of the town where characteristic, red wooden buildings with turf-covered roofs cluster on a narrow peninsula.
