Perhaps take a stroll through the quirky neighbourhood of Broughty Ferry with its fantastic selection of shops and restaurants or discover Scotland’s oldest surviving medieval church tower, the Old Steeple. Dundee was also where Robert’s Scott’s Antarctic exploration vessel was built, the last three mast wooden tall ship to be made in Britain and you can tour the RRS Discover at Discovery Point.

The port of Tobermory is the principal town on the Isle of Mull, built as a fishing port in the late 18th century and characterised by its brightly-painted houses that curve around the natural harbour. The Isle of Mull lies within the Inner Hebrides on Scotland’s west coast and its unspoilt beauty ranges from impressive sea cliffs and beaches, to mountains and forests, while to the south of Mull lies the small island of Iona, known for its association with St Columba.

The capital of Northern Ireland and the island's second largest city, Belfast was the birthplace of the Titanic and has a proud seafaring history. Perhaps visit Titanic Belfast, a modern museum dedicated to the ill-fated liner – it's located in the Titanic Quarter where hit television series Games of Thrones is filmed! Or, further afield you can discover the remarkable Giant’s Causeway, a unique rock formation of hexagonal pillars.

The Scilly Isles are made up of five inhabited – and some 140 uninhabited – islands situated off the Cornish Coast. St Mary’s is the largest inhabited island, noted for its white sandy beaches and coastal views. Hugh Town is the main town where facilities include shops, pubs and a museum. To the north of St Mary’s lies the island of Tresco, with its famous Abbey Gardens, home to some 20,000 exotic plants.

The pretty town of Honfleur lies beside the mouth of the Seine where it flows into the Channel. Explore the picturesque old harbour – the Vieux Bassin – with its tall narrow buildings, as well as the cobbled streets and alleys. Within the town you’ll also find St Catherine’s Church – one of the largest wooden churches in France, and the Satie Museum dedicated to the composer. Honfleur also served as inspiration for many painters including Boudin, Monet and Dufy.
