Stavanger

Saga Sapphire blog - Captains' blogs

25th February, 2019

Arrived very late into Stavanger, weather again.

Left Narvik into force 8/9 from the south. We had the Pilots on to run inside the Fjords out of the Sea and Swell, but the wind was still 50 knots plus from ahead so we did not make the required speed.

Arrived alongside just before 2000 and we only stayed for 2 hours. A few passengers took the opportunity to wander ashore around the World Heritage site right next to where we berthed. We managed to get a local group to come on to entertain us.

We left again at 2200 bound for Dover and had a fantastic day on the 26th, sunny and calm and arrived back in Dover at 0800 on the 27th to start it all again!

I hope Captain Julian has a quieter cruise to Norway over the next 2 weeks!
