Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs
9th March, 2018
A beautiful arrival into Alta, a little windy with some ‘sea smoke’ but the wind eased off as we approached the cruise ship berth ahead of the runway for Alta’s Airport. Lots and lots of tours today, all very busy, with Igloo Hotel, Dog Sledding, Reindeer Sledding. BUT – MOST IMPORTANTLY – Did we see the Northern Lights? – YES WE DID!!!!
The hunting for Aurora Borealis tour in the evening saw a brilliant show and I have attached some photos – how great are they!!! A fantastic experience was had by all and I have not broken my record of coming up here and not seeing the Northern Lights……phew!!
We have an overnight call in Alta as well, so a great opportunity for our guests to explore but it’s cold at -22 degrees C………now that really is cold.
1pm on the 10th March and time to head towards Harstad, a new port for Saga. Hope you enjoy the photos and will keep you all posted on Harstad!!!!
See you soon, and full ahead bridge team………..
