Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs
30th March, 2018
After a nice comfortable seaday from Tarragona, packed with activities and a beautifully served and presented Spanish Fiesta lunch, here we are in popular cruise port of Cadiz in Spain. Cadiz is the capital of Cadiz province and is near to Gibraltar, to the north of the Gibraltar Strait. We docked bow in starboard side alongside in our downtown berth this morning, a little sprinkle of rain but it is forecast for sunshine this afternoon.
Cadiz is a great place to explore at your leisure and with it being Good Friday today the churches will be offering worship for the people. A popular activity in Spain is of course the Flamenco and one of tours goes to the highlight in Cadiz, also another popular tour is the scenic Cadiz and Jerez.
The sunshine did indeed creep out in the afternoon and this was very welcomed as today is our last port call of this cruise. Next up is 3 seadays home and then our homeport of Portsmouth on the 3rd April.
I cannot believe how quick this cruise has gone and to all the lovely places we have visited. Bearing in mind it is still the end of March we have had decent weather and the sun has been out for the most! 6pm and time to leave Spain. Next stop Portsmouth and the weather en-route is looking good with some following seas and winds.
