Sete, France

Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

26th March, 2018

Well after our seaday from leaving Ibiza and up into the Gulf of Lions we are here in Sete France. The Gulf of Lions is notorious for its wind and we had some of it but have found a little lee in the port today. Many activities were scheduled yesterday for our seaday including presentations from Jake Hodges, one of our guest chefs, many cruise staff entertainment activities and we hosted our very well attended Britannia Cocktail Party and dinner – fabulous!!!

We embarked our pilot at 6:30pm this morning and with the assistance of one tug we docked at the cruise ship berth bow in, facing the beautiful town. Many nice tours on offer today on this sunny but breezy day including visits to Montpellier, which is very baroque Parisian style, enchanting Canal Du Midi, a day in Carcassonne and Sete, Thau Lagoon & Vermouth. Also our shuttle bus is on offer for those independent travellers and some chose to explore themselves. Sete is the Meds largest fishing port after Marseille, so the port is a hub of activity.

6pm all aboard and time to sail. With the assistance of one tug we departed the berth and sailed out ready for our next port – BARCELONA – my favourite.

Excited Captain has now going to try and sleep ready for tomorrow……..
