Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

After a nice crossing of the Bay of Biscay yesterday here we were in El-Ferrol. Many activities were organised for the seaday to keep our Saganauts busy. After speaking with lots of guests they all enjoyed Showtime with our Classical Guitarist Michael Durrant and our Flamenco Guitarist Samuel Moore.
We picked up our pilot at 7:30am this morning and sailed through the scenic and historic entrance to El-Ferrol, where we docked just before 8am. Ferrol is a city in the province of Galicia and has been a major naval shipbuilding centre for most of its history.
Lots of tours on offer today including the Day in Santiago de Compostela, the Way to Santiago and the Scenic Coast of Galicia.
6pm came around quickly and with the wind helping us to leave the berth we moved the vessel astern and made for good course to leave this sheltered harbour. Bit of wind outside but as soon as we got round the corner and headed south along the Portuguese coast all was well.
Two seadays to one of my favourite ports – Motril so here we go…….fair winds and following seas……..
