Portsmouth

Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

17th March, 2018

Here we are again in Portsmouth, I cannot believe how quickly our Northern Lights cruise went. It was a great cruise and we had nice weather in the Norwegian Ports, along with spectacular Northern lights viewings. With our fund raising activities for our charity partner Silverline we raised over £6,300 – which was a great achievement and many thanks go out to all who donated and helped with this great cause.

Well today we are preparing for our ventures to warmer climates and our ‘Local Flavours of the Mediterranean’ Cruise. Great itinerary and hopefully sunshine on the way!!! My senior team this cruise is Staff Captain Simon, Chief Engineer Ciro, Hotel Director Dawn and Cruise Director Simon. After loading our many pallets of provisions, and many suitcases, it was time to leave Portsmouth.

3:30pm Drill done, off we sailed just after 4pm and proceeded out of Portsmouth harbour. Full away just after 5pm we then turned right past the Isle of Wight and proceeded West in the Channel and of course then into the Bay of Biscay for our first port of call El-Ferrol on Monday.

Weather looks good all the way so a great start. Speak soon……….
