Mahon

Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

26th June, 2018

Another fantastic day weather wise today and how nice to be coming into one of the most beautiful entrances to the protected and quaint inner harbour of Mahon. We embarked our pilot at the slightly earlier time of 6:30am this morning, and had a wonderful sail into the inner harbour, seeing the beautiful ‘Casas’ near the waterside with great views over the island.

Mahon has to be one of my favourite ports in the world as it has such character and the shops in the town centre seem so original as they have used the existing buildings. Tours were going to Monte Toro and Binibeca along with scenic tours of the island and a tour which sounded great, ‘Equestrian’ Minorca. I also nipped ashore again today , up the steps to the town centre and grabbed a quick coffee. Many guests exploring the area and I am sure Mastercard saw a few transactions today!!

So with all our guests onboard we departed our berth and sailed out of the harbour. We had turned on arrival so it was a simple move ahead. Once we dropped our pilot off it was full ahead to make St Tropez on time in the French Riviera – home of the jet set.

After our very tasty dinner we were enchanted with the Classical Guitarist Carlos Bonell, who put on a great show in the Discovery Lounge.

Busy day tomorrow in St Tropez with tendering so see you later………
