Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs
8th August, 2018
Let’s start off with thanking Staff Captain Simon for his very nice and informative blogs for our great cruise in France and Spain.
Well here we are in Dover ready to start our around Britain cruise called Western Skies and Scottish Isles cruise. We have some great events to look forward to including the Jersey Flower Show tomorrow, The Balloon festival in Bristol and the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh. Along with some great ports to visit - Campbeltown and Scrabster. We are loading all our provisions ready today along with refuelling the ship.
My senior team this cruise are Staff Captain Simon (final cruise before going home), Chief Engineer Ciro, Hotel Director Dawn (also going home at the end of this cruise) and Cruise Director Kayleigh.
1530 and time to do our Passenger Emergency Drill – a mandatory requirement of course. Slight delay with departure but by 6pm we were underway and leaving the harbour, going full speed towards Jersey and the lovely harbour of St Helier.
We do have some guest bloggers this cruise, starting with our Safety Officer Andy and then our Chief Electrician Ian and then our Bridge team followed by me at the end for Leith and Edinburgh. Cheers to a great cruise and off we go!
