Travel advice

There's so much to do at sea

Entertainment

After dinner, take your seat in the Playhouse Theatre, where live music, dance performances and West End-style shows take to the stage every night.

Take your seat in the Playhouse Theatre

There will be plenty of entertainment during the days too – you could participate in themed quizzes, dance classes and hosted game sessions, which are all fantastic ways to make new friends.

Cultural enrichment

We appreciate that our guests have a wide range of experiences and interests, so we design every Daily Programme to reflect that.

Every day you can enjoy a range of enriching opportunities, to engage with your own interests or learn something new. Attend lectures given by experts, covering topics like local culture, history and marine wildlife.

For a more personal workshop, join the book club in the Library or a language class to prepare for exciting days ashore.

Relax and unwind

Your days at sea are whatever you want them to be – get active, learn something new, or simply relax in small-ship luxury.

You can take advantage of the sophisticated, peaceful atmosphere on board, especially in the ship’s quiet places, such as the Library, where you could unwind with a good book.

Take in the fresh sea air on the Lido as you lounge with a drink or take a soothing dip in the hot tub. And again, make sure you visit the Spa – you won’t want to leave!

Art and creativity

Unleash your creativity by engaging in the on-board art classes and workshops, where you can learn new crafts, discover a hidden talent or show off your existing skills. These are also included in the price.

From watercolour painting and card making to needle felting and jewellery creation, there is so much to learn. Plus, on selected cruises you’ll be joined by the Supercrafters, founded by Julie Peasgood – a guest-favourite celebrity guest.

If you’re more of an art connoisseur than an artist, be sure to visit the ship’s art galleries and appreciate our curated collection of art. Walking around each of our ships you’ll find pieces including paintings, mixed-media and sculpture.

Enjoy your time in craft workshop

Socialise and network

There are plenty of opportunities to socialise and network during organised events – if you’d like to.

Casual events include bowls and table tennis games, deck walking and singing groups, and more.

There are also opportunities to make new friends. Solo guests can choose to attend the single travellers’ socials, including organised introductions prior to going ashore.

Outdoor spaces

Our ships are more intimate than other cruise lines, with a capacity of just 987 guests, which means your time on board will be far more relaxed and less crowded. It also means that you can enjoy exceptional, personalised service with a guest-to-crew ratio of 2:1. Our incredible crew also remember the names of returning guests, and things like their favourite drink from the bar!

Despite their boutique size, you’ll be surprised how much outside space there is to enjoy on our sister ships. You can take in the fresh air with a walk along the full wraparound promenade or watch the ocean sunset with a cocktail on the Terrace.

The Lido offers a generously-sized swimming pool, twin hot tubs and plenty of sun loungers and shaded area. Enjoy fish and chips, ice cream and drinks from the bar, all waiter served to you.

You can also take part in deck quoits and shuffleboard, as well as play in the Golf Simulator, found in the Bunker near the top of the ship.

Enjoy alfresco lunch in the Verandah

No need to fly

Join a cruise aboard Spirit of Adventure or Spirit of Discovery, and you won’t ever have to worry about visiting an airport, with the long queues and baggage limits.

All of our ocean cruises depart conveniently from the UK, from Dover or Portsmouth.

You don’t even need to plan your journey to the port either – we take care of everything.

Our included chauffeur service will whisk you away to your ship with ease and style, handling your baggage for you too – which is unlimited, by the way.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to fly closer to the port, we’ll arrange your flights, chauffeur you to your local outbound airport and pick you up again when you land, driving you directly to your ship.

That’s the Saga Difference

One of the big benefits of Saga’s all-inclusive luxury cruises, is that you can sail away and explore fascinating destinations, but without having to fly.

It means they’re perfect for those wanting to avoid the stress and hassle of a busy airport.

This does also mean you’ll spend some days at sea, as your boutique ship cruises away from the UK. But here’s the secret. These relaxing days on the ocean wave are one of the most enjoyable parts of the cruise!

Find out why when you cruise with us, the journey is just as enjoyable as the destination, with so much to do at sea…

Enjoy our exceptional and personalised service

Wellness and fitness facilities

Our boutique sister ships have a number of top-of-the-range facilities to help you destress while at sea.

You could work up a sweat using the high-tech machines in the Fitness Suite, where fitness experts will be on hand to help you get the most of your workout. If you’d prefer a more slow and mindful experience, join an on-deck yoga class or take a stroll with a view along the ship’s wraparound promenade – four times round is a mile.

You can also enjoy unlimited trips to the luxury Spa. Soothe your muscles in the hydrotherapy pool, then lie back on the heated loungers. You could unwind in the steam room and infrared sauna or opt for a pampering session, including massages and rejuvenating skin treatments, at an extra cost.

Unwind in the Spa

Culinary delights

Everything from all-inclusive drinks to speciality dining is included in the price of a Saga cruise, meaning that you can indulge as much as you like!

You can savour a diverse range of dining options, from casual buffets to three-course meals and regional dining such as Chinese and Nepalese. Every day you could try something new, with menus and ingredients inspired by and freshly sourced from your ports of calls.

It’s not just about the mouth-watering main meals either – across your ship there are plenty of treats to enjoy.

Enjoy a slice of cake and a hot drink in the Living Room and look forward to afternoon tea with a view. Dine on traditional fish and chips and ice cream on the Lido deck, order 24/7 room service to your balcony cabin, and so much more.
