Day 1 UK to Düsseldorf to Cologne

Travel to Düsseldorf (a journey from Calais of around 4 hours and 45 minutes) and embark Spirit of the Rhine, which will begin cruising towards towards Cologne.
Enjoy dinner on board.
Day 2 Cologne to Koblenz 🎧

Explore the city of Cologne this morning on an included tour.
The city was founded by the Romans and has long been an important trading centre. The vast Gothic cathedral that towers over the city was started in 1248 as a pilgrimage church to house the relics of the three Magi. The two spires are 157 metres high, and were not completed until 1880.
Other highlights include Hohenzollern Bridge, and the pretty Altstadt, or old town, which has been sensitively restored to it's pre-World War Two glory.
Set sail at lunchtime and cruise to Koblenz, arriving late this evening.
Day 3 Koblenz to Rüdesheim 🎧

This morning you have the opportunity to join an optional walking tour of Koblenz, which includes a visit to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress.
Spend the afternoon cruising to Rüdesheim, arriving in the evening in time for an optional wine tasting excursion.
Day 4 Rüdesheim to Boppard 🎧

An included excursion this morning visits the Siegfried's Museum of Mechanical Music, an eccentric collection of 350 self-playing instruments. This whimsical museum exhibits music boxes, barrel organs, hand-cranked carnival machines and early jukeboxes, all in full working order. Highlights include the ‘Puppet Orchestrion’, a huge cabinet containing puppet musicians (1888) and the later ‘Phonoliszt Violina’ a blend of piano and violins that plays in perfect harmony.
At lunchtime your ship cruises to Boppard arriving in the afternoon, giving you the opportunity to enjoy an optional wine tasting session.
Day 5 Amsterdam

Spend the morning cruising to arrive in the capital late this afternoon.
After an early dinner transfer by coach to the Ziggo Dome to take your Category 1 seat for André Rieu and the Johann Strauss Orchestra, as they give their New Year’s concert. Known for inspiring his audiences to dance in the aisles, look forward to lively music as the maestro and his orchestra celebrate another new year!
Return to your ship afterwards.
Day 6 Amsterdam 🎧

Wake up for a full day in the Dutch capital. After breakfast explore Amsterdam, with its network of peaceful canals, cobbled streets, museums and galleries, on an included coach tour and canal cruise or instead opt for an included culinary-themed walking tour of the city.
This afternoon you have the opportunity to explore at leisure, perhaps pay a visit to one of the city’s world-class museums, such as the Rijksmuseum.
Day 7 Amsterdam 🎧

Enjoy another full day in Amsterdam, with the opportunity to join an optional excursion to Volendam, Edam and the Katwoude cheese farm this morning.
Day 8 Amsterdam to UK
Disembark Spirit of the Rhine after breakfast to begin your return journey to the UK (the journey to Calais takes approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes).
