Before wine took over his life in 1984, Oz was a full-time actor and singer, appearing in West End hit shows such as ‘Evita’, ‘Sweeney Todd’ and ‘The Mitford Girls’, and touring with the Royal Shakespeare Company. Oz will entertain you with two on-board talks during your cruise.

Spirit of the Rhine
Travel to Frankfurt and embark Spirit of the Rhine.
Depart 0000.
The city of Frankfurt sits beside the Main river. The medieval old town, in the heart of the city, is lined with half-timbered buildings, boutiques and quaint apple-wine taverns. In the central square, Römerberg, you can see the medieval Römer complex with their distinctive stepped gables and opposite is the Old St Nicholas church. An included tour offers an introduction to the city.
Arrive Rüdesheim, 0800. Depart 1400.
Scenic Cruise, Middle Rhine Gorge.
Arrive Koblenz, 1900.
The popular wine town of Rüdesheim has a traditional old town of half-timbered houses and is backed by terraced vineyards. Among its main attractions is a long narrow street, the Drosselgasse, which is lined on both sides with traditional wine taverns.
Depart 2200.
The city of Koblenz, meaning 'merging of the rivers', is situated on the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. At the exact point where the two rivers meet, the Deutsches Eck, there is monument with a huge equestrian statue of Emperor Wilhelm I.
Above the town sits the Festung Ehrenbreitstein, a citadel built by the Prussians between 1816 and 1832. Medieval Eltz Castle, which has been owned by the Eltz family for over 800 years, is nearby.
Arrive Königswinter, 0800. Depart 1300.
Arrive Bonn, 1400.
The picturesque town of Königswinter nestles on the banks of the River Rhine and is overlooked by the ancient castle ruins of Drachenfel, the supposed location where Siegfried slayed the dragon in German mythology and used by Wagner in his Ring Cycle.
Then you continue to Bonn, where your ship will moor overnight.
Depart Bonn, 1400.
Arrive Cologne, 1700.
Bonn was capital of West Germany from 1949 until 1999, when Berlin was restored as capital of the reunified country. The main sights of the city, birthplace of famous composer Beethoven, include the Beethoven monument, Romanesque Minster Cathedral and the University of Bonn. Look forward to an included coach tour, with time at leisure to explore independently.

Arrive Düsseldorf, 0000.
Founded by the Romans, Cologne has long been an important trading centre. The city’s main attraction is the twin-spired Gothic cathedral which dominates the skyline. There are also baroque palaces, medieval churches and a 16th-century City Hall. An included coach and walking tour here will reveal some of the highlights.
