How our discounts work
On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare. Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin and grade. When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.-

Travel to Düsseldorf and embark Amadeus Elegant.

Arrive 0900. Depart 0000.
Bonn was capital of West Germany from 1949 until 1999, when Berlin was restored as capital of the reunified country. The sights of this compact city, birthplace of famous composer Beethoven, include the Beethoven monument, Romanesque Minster Cathedral and the University of Bonn.

Arrive 0800.
Koblenz, meaning 'merging of the rivers', is situated on the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers. At the exact point where the two rivers meet, the Deutsches Eck, there is a monument with a huge equestrian statue of Emperor Wilhelm I. Above the town sits the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, a citadel built by the Prussians between 1816 and 1832.

Depart Koblenz, 0800.
Arrive Oberwesel, 1300.
Best known for the production of Reisling, the town of Oberwesel is surrounded by a medieval wall and defence towers with dramatic Schönburg Castle perched high above it. You can explore Oberwesel on an included walking tour.

Depart Oberwesel, 0900.
Arrive Bingen, 1200. Depart 1800.
Arrive Alken, 0000.
Bingen sits at the gateway to the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley, with its hilltop castles, historic towns and vineyards. The visionary and composer Hildegard von Bingen lived and worked in Bingen in the 12th century and there is now a museum dedicated to her life near where Hildegard’s abbey once stood.
An included wine tasting excursion from Bingen visits Johannisburg Castle, a vast four-winged complex built between 1605 and 1614.

Depart Alken, 0800.
Arrive Cochem, 1200.
The pretty village of Alken is overlooked by the ruins of Thurant Castle. Continue to the small town of Cochem, which enjoys a scenic setting beside the Moselle river. Perched high above the town and crowning a hill cloaked entirely in vines stands the neo-Gothic Reichsburg Castle, and although most of the castle was rebuilt in the 19th century, the original 11th-century keep still survives.
The town’s other historic architectural gems include a baroque Town Hall backed by a maze of streets and a quaint market square.

Depart Cochem, 0900.
Arrive Beilstein, 1200.
Spend the morning cruising through the picturesque scenery of the Moselle to Beilstein. This attractive town is known as the ‘Sleeping Beauty of the Moselle’ due to its historic inaccessibility and scenic setting. Take your time to stroll along the riverfront, explore the narrows lanes of half-timbered houses or perhaps have a closer look at the ruins of ancient Metternich Castle, which overlooks the town.

Depart Beilstein, 0800.
Arrive Traben-Trarbach, 1300. Depart 2100.
The twin town of Traben-Trarbach straddles the Moselle and is known as the 'capital' of the wine region. It is home to many art nouveau buildings, underground cellar vaults and an elaborate bridge gate designed by Berlin art nouveau architect Bruno Möhring. Look forward to an included wine tasting on board your ship this evening.

Arrive 0800.
From Schweich, and included excursion this morning visits Trier, the oldest city in Germany, was founded by the Emperor Augustus in 16BC. Many relics of Trier's ancient past survive to this day, including Porta Nigra, a well-preserved Roman city gate.
