Day 1 UK to Desenzano del Garda

Fly to Verona airport and transfer to the locally rated 4-star Hotel Desenzano (4Q) in Desenzano del Garda where you'll stay on a half-board basis for two nights.
The hotel boasts spectacular views over Lake Garda and is close to the historic centre of Desenzano del Garda. Facilities include complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, a small outdoor pool (summer only), scenic terraces overlooking the lake, whirlpools and a solarium. All 40 bedrooms are equipped with a television, telephone, safe and hairdryer.
Day 2 Desenzano del Garda

After breakfast, enjoy an included full-day independent boat tour of beautiful Lake Garda. You will be given tickets to explore the southern part of the lake (which doesn’t include Riva), by catamaran, public boat or ferry.
After dinner back at the hotel this evening, perhaps enjoy a leisurely evening at your hotel.
Day 3 Desenzano del Garda to Mantua

After breakfast spend the morning at leisure before your transfer to Mantua this afternoon where you will embark MS Michelangelo for your six-night, all-inclusive river cruise.
On arrival you can look forward to a welcome drinks reception served in the ship's lounge. Enjoy dinner on board and with the ship mooring here for the next two nights, enjoy your first free evening in the beautiful Renaissance city.
Day 4 Mantua

Today is at leisure. Perhaps take the chance to join an optional full-day excursion visiting Cremona and Parma, two towns further inland on opposite sides of the River Po.
Day 5 Mantua to Rovigo

Your cruise begins this morning, though you may prefer to stay ashore and join an optional guided tour of the city this morning. This afternoon another optional excursion visits the Ferrari Museum in Modena.
Your ship will cruise through Valdaro and Torretta today before mooring overnight in Rovigo.
Day 6 Rovigo to Porto Viro to Porto Levante
This morning an optional tour visits Verona, one of Italy's most enchanting cities. There's a wealth of beautiful medieval buildings to see plus a Roman arena, the second-largest remaining Roman amphitheatre in Europe, which was built in the first century AD as an arena for gladiatorial combat and later jousting, but is now home to the city’s opera festival.
MS Michelangelo cruises on to Porto Viro today before mooring overnight in Porto Levante.
Day 7 Porto Levante to Chioggia to Venice

This morning an optional excursion visits the glorious city of Vicenza.
If you choose not to join the trip then you can instead look forward to spending time in the Roman port of Chioggia, situated on two small islands in the south of the Venetian Lagoon. This city is often called 'Venice in miniature' with its beautiful old town apparently floating on a network of canals. MS Michelangelo will continue sailing to reach the real thing later, mooring in Venice for the final two nights of your holiday.
The evening is yours to explore at your leisure. No trip to Venice would be complete without a trip down one of the city's picturesque waterways in an iconic gondola, or perhaps sample some Prosecco or maybe the choice of local drinkers – Campari or Aperol – in a waterside bar.
Day 8 Venice

This morning you can choose between optional excursions, one a guided tour of the Doge’s Palace and the Piazza San Marco and the other retracing the footsteps of Casanova in Venice.
After returning to your ship for lunch, perhaps join an optional excursion this afternoon exploring the islands of the Venetian Lagoon and their traditions. Mark the end of your holiday with a festive gala dinner on board this evening.
Day 9 Venice to UK

You’ll disembark MS Michelangelo after breakfast and start your return journey to the UK, flying out from Venice.
Please note
Some of the highlights may only be seen on optional excursions at an additional cost, or by exploring independently.
