How our discounts work
On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare. Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin and grade. When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.-

Itinerary
Spirit of the Rhine

Depart Amsterdam, 2100.
Travel to Amsterdam and embark Spirit of the Rhine.

Arrive 0800. Depart 2000.
Dordrecht, the oldest city in the region of South Holland, sits at the confluence of three waterways, the Rhine, the Meuse and the Merwede.
In the early 11th century Count Dirk III built a castle here to gain control of the shipping routes, and the city grew up around it. There is a selection of fine churches, due to early links with the Protestant reformation. Other attractions include the old city hall, which spans the canal, the 13th-century Augustijnenkerk and 17th-century city gate.

Arrive 0800.
The quaint timber-framed buildings and stone fortifications of this typically Flemish city sit side by side among a network of canals. Take our complimentary shuttle service into Ghent and explore the cobbled streets independently. Discover attractive squares overlooked by the 91-metre-high bell tower of the medieval Cloth Hall.
Later, an included excursion explores Ypres and the Flanders Field Memorial Museum, with dinner at a local restaurant, as well as visiting the Menin Gate Memorial during the Last Post ceremony

Depart 1430.
Take our complimentary shuttle service into Ghent and explore further independently.

Arrive 0800. Depart 1800.
An included walking tour this morning explores the historic centre of Belgium’s capital city where the UNESCO-listed central square, Grand Place, is overlooked by Gothic architecture enclosing museums, cafes and guildhalls.
In contrast, the wide cosmopolitan avenues that surround the old town are lined with huge buildings, including the Palais de Justice and the headquarters of the European Parliament.
A complimentary shuttle service is available this afternoon should you wish to explore Brussels further independently.

Arrive Rotterdam, 0900. Depart 1800.
Arrive Utrecht, 0000
The city of Rotterdam was heavily restored following bombing during World War Two and is now home to an array of modern architecture including the Markthal, a combined indoor food market and apartment block, Erasmus Bridge – the philosopher Desiderius Erasmus was born here in Rotterdam – and the Cube Houses, built at an angle across a pedestrian bridge. There are a number of sculptures in the city including works by Picasso, De Koning and Gabo.
This morning you can take our complimentary shuttle service into Rotterdam to explore independently and in the afternoon an included excursion will reveal some of the city’s main sights.
Arrive 0800.
Disembark Spirit of the Rhine and begin your return journey.
