Day 1 UK to Maastricht

Travel by coach via Eurotunnel or ferry to Maastricht (a journey from Calais of approximately five hours depending on traffic conditions).

Embark Rex Rheni and look forward to a welcome reception and dinner on board tonight as you remain moored here for the first of two nights.

Day 2 Maastricht

Basilica of Saint Servatius from the top of St Janskerk, Maastricht

Spend the morning on an optional tour of the city, which is distinguished by it’s medieval-era architecture.

The cobbled old town is home to the Gothic-styled St Janskerk church and Romanesque Basilica of St Servatius, where a significant collection of religious art is housed.

Day 3 Maastricht to Roermond

Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht

Spend the day exploring Maastricht independently. The Bonnefanten Museum here exhibits fine art by Italian, Flemish and Dutch artists, as well as a collection of Medieval sculptures, and the city is also home to a Natural History Museum and Architecture Institute.

Your ship continues sailing early his evening, arriving in Roermond later tonight.

Day 4 Roermond to Venlo to Nijmegen

Roermond in the Netherlands

Enjoy an optional walking tour of Roermond before sailing to Venlo later this morning, arriving after lunch. From here an optional excursion visits the castle gardens at Arcen.

Your ship sails towards Nijmegen later this afternoon, arriving in the early hours.

Day 5 Nijmegen to UK

Disembark your ship after breakfast and begin your return journey to the UK.

Some of the highlights may only be seen on optional excursions at an additional cost, or by exploring independently.

Walking Grades
1 – Walking at your own discretion. 
For example, on panoramic coach tours when the only walking is at photo stops.
2 – Minimal walking. Up to approximately 1,640 feet (500 metres) on mainly flat terrain.
3 – Moderate walking. Between 1,640-4,920 feet (500-1500 metres) over mixed terrain with the possibility of some steps.
4 – Considerable walking. More than 4,920 feet (1500 metres) over uneven terrain with many steps.
5 – Strenuous walking. Long distances over rough terrain with climbing, steps and trekking.
