Day 1 UK to Budapest

Fly to Hungary's capital and transfer to the locally rated 4-star Danubius Health Spa Resort Margitziget (4Q) in the heart of a romantic green park on Margaret Island and close to historical sights and city-centre shops. The health spa resort also has a restaurant serving local and international cuisine and bar. All 257 rooms and 24 executive rooms have air-conditioning, a bath, television, telephone, hairdryer, safe, tea and coffee-making facilities, minibar and free Wi-Fi. There are also indoor and outdoor pools, thermal water, steam baths, Jacuzzi, saunas, aroma cabins, sundeck, solarium and wellness treatments, with the spa using thermal water from local natural springs and mud rich in minerals for its treatments.

Day 2 Budapest


Three cities became one when Buda, Pest and Óbuda merged in 1873 and though unified are still very different in character. There are magnificent sights for you to discover on your half-day sightseeing tour, including the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Buda Castle. After dinner, enjoy a relaxing evening in anticipation of tomorrow's embarkation.

Day 3 Budapest to Visegrád

This morning is at leisure. Perhaps explore more of Budapest independently or just enjoy the hotel facilities – perhaps relax in the spa.

You'll embark Amadeus Classic this afternoon and enjoy a welcome drink and dinner tonight. Your cruise begins as you head to Visegrád, where the ship will moor for the night.

Day 4 Visegrád to Esztergom

Spend the morning in Visegrád in Pest County on the Danube Bend. It's famous for the remains of an early Renaissance summer palace and the medieval citadel. Perhaps take a walk to the castle and find out why the hexagonal Solomon Tower built in 1258 once held Dracula! Your ship departs at lunchtime for Esztergom, arriving earl afternoon with time to explore independently. Alternatively, you can explore Esztergom and Szentendre on an optional tour. Cruise towards Bratislava overnight.

Day 5 Bratislava

This morning, enjoy an included tourist 'road train' tour of the capital's highlights, including, the historical Old Town and Bratislava Castle. Another excursion this afternoon allows you to sample Slovakian wine and see examples of Majolica pottery.

Day 6 Vienna

You arrive in Vienna in the early hours. This morning, enjoy an included half-day tour of this dynamic city – steeped in imperial history, yet brimming with contemporary attractions and museums. Another excursion visits Schönbrunn Palace – a stunning former imperial summer residence.

After dinner there is an optional excursion to a Strauss and Mozart concert available.

Day 7 Vienna to Krems to Weissenkirchen


Depart Vienna in the early hours. Arrive in Krems, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the architectural influences over the centuries can still be seen in the quaint narrow streets and 16th-century houses. Depart at lunchtime, arriving at Weissenkirchen in the beautiful Wachau Valley mid-afternoon. The town, which is famous for producing fine wines, takes its name from the huge 14th-century 'white church' that dominates the landscape. Depart late this evening.

Day 8 Linz

Linz, Austria

Amadeus Classic arrives in Linz around lunchtime. The city was founded by the Romans and became an important trading point. Explore the city where Hitler spent his youth and the great mathematician Johannes Kepler discovered the 'third law of planetary motion', and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of this former European Capital of Culture. Attractions from past and present and a spectacular location where the Danube changes direction, makes it the perfect setting in which to end a memorable cruise through the heart of Europe.

Day 9 Linz to UK


Disembark after breakfast and travel to the airport for your return flight to the UK.
