Greenland and Iceland Adventure

Spirit of Discovery departing Dover

27th July 2027

Admire the dramatic vistas of Iceland and Greenland

Immerse yourself in the unique scenery and rich culture of Greenland and Iceland on this all-inclusive cruise in 2027 aboard Spirit of Discovery. The outbound journey includes a visit to the remote Orkneys, home to the oldest and best-preserved Neolithic site in Europe, Skara Brae. Kirkwall is the largest town and capital, where you can visit the medieval St Magnus Cathedral or delve into the islands’ Viking heritage. Continue north to Iceland’s compact capital city of Reykjavik, founded by the Viking Ingólfur Arnason in AD 874. From here you can discover the Golden Circle’s unique collection of natural wonders, from geothermal lagoons and waterfalls, to geysers and crater lakes.

The adventure continues to Greenland, where you can discover immense fjords, blue-hued icebergs and the settlements of Qaqortoq, Narsarsuag and Nanortalik. The hills of south Greenland are scattered with 10th to 15th-century Norse ruins and Inuit farming settlements, which are collectively listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the waters surrounding the island are home to around 15 whale species, with August being a great time to spot some of them. Uncover the many attractions of Greenland, then return to Iceland via scenic Prince Christian Sound to visit Akureyri, gateway to the beautiful Godafoss Waterfall. The return cruise includes a visit to the wild Faroe Islands, a new port of call for Spirit of Discovery.
