From Zeebrugge, visit UNESCO-listed Bruges where the historic centre is laced with canals and cobbled streets overlooked by medieval, Renaissance and Gothic buildings like the town square’s 13th-century Belfry. The city is renowned for its tempting chocolatiers and waffle shops.

From IJmuiden, discover the world-famous floral displays of Keukenhof Gardens, known as ‘the most beautiful spring garden in the world’, or perhaps head to the capital Amsterdam with its historic canals and iconic museums. While Honfleur, a typical Normandy coastal town, features a picturesque Old Dock, with two-storey stone dwellings, and 15th-century St Catherine’s church. Its local museum displays work inspired by the surrounding scenery by artists such as Boudin, Monet, Dufy, Duborg and Friesz.

Zeebrugge, Belgium

Arrive 0900. Depart 2000.

A gateway to the Flanders region of Belgium, Zeebrugge was developed during the late 19th century after Bruges’ marine channel silted up. The port’s fishing and wartime heritage can be seen at the interactive Seafront museum, the walkable seawall and the 330-foot-long Russian sub-marine, the Foxtrot. Visit UNESCO-listed Bruges where the historic centre is threaded with canals and cobbled streets overlooked by medieval, Renaissance and Gothic buildings like the town square’s 13th-century Belfry.

Day 3April 7

IJmuiden (for Keukenhof Gardens), Netherlands

Tulips in the Keukenhof Gardens, Netherlands

From IJmuiden, visit world-famous Keukenhof Gardens. Spread across 32 hectares, Keukenhof is described as ‘the most beautiful spring garden in the world’ and this visit is timed to see the gardens at their very best. A variety of colourful show gardens and horticultural displays featuring many floral species, including tulips and hyacinths are displayed here.

Charming Honfleur is an attractive town on the Normandy coast, dating back to the 14th century. Among the highlights of the town are the picturesque Old Dock, with its two-storey stone dwellings, and the 15th-century, wooden church St Catherine’s. Honfleur inspired artists such as Boudin, Monet, Dufy, Duborg and Friesz and some of their finest work is displayed in the local museum.
