How our discounts work
On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each grade at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected grades. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold. This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare. Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin and grade. When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.-

Portland

The Isle of Portland is part of the UNESCO-listed Jurassic Coast. It is connected to the mainland by 18-mile-long Chesil Beach – a wild, windswept ridge backed by a saline lake.
Featuring one of the world’s largest artificial harbours, Portland served as a Royal Naval Base until the end of the 20th century and was a central embarkation point for Allied forces on D-Day in 1944. Henry VIII’s 16th-century castle marks one end of the island with the Bill promontory, Dorset’s southern tip, at the other end. Alternatively, visit nearby Weymouth or Dorchester.
Optional excursion
The fossil-rich Jurassic Coast comprises such natural wonders as Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Kimmeridge Bay.

Fowey ⚓
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
The Cornish town of Fowey is located at the mouth of the River Fowey. Established well before the Norman invasion, it has been a major centre for trade throughout its history due to its natural harbour, which is flanked by 14th-century blockhouses and overlooked by St Catherine’s Castle.
As the birthplace of novelist Dame Daphne du Maurier, the town has strong literary connections and holds an annual Du Maurier festival.

An archipelago of mostly flat, green-topped islands ringed with red sandstone cliffs and sandy beaches, the Orkneys lie due north of John O’ Groats.
