Cruise Cornwall’s scenic coast to the Isles of Scilly
Trace the south west coast of England from Portsmouth to the historic port of Plymouth, from where Sir Francis Drake set off on the first circumnavigation of the globe in 1577 and from where the puritan Pilgrims left for the New World on board the Mayflower in 1620.
Continue your all-inclusive mini cruise to the Cornish coast to visit the thriving port town of Falmouth, home to the National Maritime Museum Cornwall which documents the influences of the sea on the region’s history and culture. Just off the Cornish coast in the Atlantic Sea you’ll visit the Isles of Scilly, an unspoilt archipelago of over 140 islands.

Plymouth ⚓
Arrive 0800. Depart 1700.
Set on the Devon coast, Plymouth has served as a centre for trade and a base for exploration and military action. It was from here, in 1577, that Sir Francis Drake embarked on the first ever circumnavigation of the globe. In 1620 the puritan Pilgrims emigrated from Plymouth bound for the New World on board the Mayflower. You can still visit the Mayflower steps.
In 1690 the first Royal Dockyard opened on the banks of the Tamar west of Plymouth. The port played a major role in the Napoleonic Wars and also in both World Wars. You can find out more at The Devonport Naval Heritage Site and Visitor Centre. You will step ashore in the historic Barbican area of the city, the ideal starting point for independent exploration.

Falmouth
Arrive 0815. Depart 1930.
Falmouth is a thriving port town, well-known for its rich maritime heritage and was converted into a seaport at the suggestion of Sir Walter Raleigh.
Positioned on the Cornish coast at the Fal Estuary, today the town is the start and finish line for many record-breaking sea voyages including those of Dame Ellen MacArthur and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.
Included excursion
Visit the National Maritime Museum Cornwall located on Falmouth’s Discovery Quay on an included excursion. Explore 15 galleries spread over five floors with exhibitions documenting the influence of the sea on history and culture.

Isles of Scilly ⚓

This unspoilt archipelago of over 140 islands is fringed by sandy beaches, lapped by crystal clear waters. These low-lying islands have a unique beauty, and are a haven for wildlife.
Tresco is known for its outstanding collection of subtropical flora at the Tresco Abbey Garden which you will visit during an included excursion. Alternatively, discover St Mary’s, the largest of the Scilly Isles.

An included excursion visits the sub-tropical gardens of Tresco Abbey, which were established by Augustus Smith in the 19th century in the ruins of a Benedictine Abbey.
