Uncover the beauty and culture of the Baltic
Sail to the Baltic, where grand imperial cities meet cutting edge Scandi design.
Experience summer in the Baltic as Spirit of Adventure sails to centuries-old cities, famed for their abundance of art and architectural delights. See fantastic interpretations of Renaissance, Rococo and Baroque flights of fancy in the great palaces. Wonder at Denmark’s Nordic Versailles, Peter the Great’s drippingly-opulent Peterhof Palace, and the stuccoed femininity of St Catherine’s Palace. Call first at Sweden, a country rich in natural wonders, impeccable style and historical treasures. The hip city of Gothenburg offers unique gastronomic experiences, wide open green spaces and a thriving cultural scene, and an overnight stay in the capital, Stockholm, allows you to soak up the vibrant cafe culture of the city’s medieval heart long into the evening.
Tallinn is straight from a storybook, with fairy tale turrets and towers filling the skyline, but an overnight stay in St Petersburg is sure to be a highlight of this summer sailing. Beautiful churches, cathedrals and monasteries, plus a wealth of galleries, museums, theatres and palaces are all waiting to be explored. Experience laid-back city life in Helsinki as you lose yourself in the quirky Design District, then complete your cruise with two calls in Denmark: Copenhagen and Skagen. Both offer a range of opportunities and excursions for culture vultures. Packed with ice for much of the year, the warmth and beauty of summer in the Baltic is a season to be celebrated right into the long white nights.
