How our discounts work

On all cruises we set aside a number of cabins within each level at a discounted fare, with the highest discount of 35% for ocean cruises and 25% for river cruises available on selected levels. These cabins are sold on a first come, first served basis. As cabins are sold, the discount begins to reduce, and continues to reduce until those selected cabins are sold.

This means that the earlier you book, the higher the chance of securing a greater discount. Our price panels clearly show the full cruise price, along with the current discount fare.

Please note: During busy periods for holiday bookings, the early booking discount can reduce rapidly. We recommend that you book early to benefit from the best booking discounts and to secure your preferred cabin.

When promoting new cruises for the first time, we contact customers on our Advanced Registration list first, allowing then to secure the cabin of their choice and benefit from the best savings. Our brochures are then sent out to loyalty club members first, followed by past cruise goers and then everyone else.

Cross the Atlantic to Canada

Embark on a Transatlantic voyage to the New World and discover the Canadian provinces of Nova Scotia, Quebec and Newfoundland in early fall, when Autumn colours are beginning to appear. You return across the Atlantic via the Azores on this all-inclusive cruise to Canada in 2027. Relax on board Spirit of Discovery and enjoy the activities and facilities before arriving at Canada’s east coast to visit Halifax. The port of departure for recovery missions after the sinking of the Titanic, Halifax has a rich maritime history which you can learn all about at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, before cruising to Gaspé. The Gaspé peninsula is renowned for its dramatic coastal scenery, easily recognisable from the large sea arch of Percé Rock. It is here that Jacques Cartier claimed Canada for France in 1534 during his voyage to the New World.

Enjoy an extended visit to Quebec City, with its 17th-century fortifications and UNESCO-listed Old Town. Key sights include the grand Fairmont Chateau Frontenac, which is set on a promontory in the Upper Town, Terrasse Dufferin boardwalk, and the historic Plains of Abraham, a vast park where the Battle of Quebec was fought in 1759. Next, cruise to a new port of call for Spirit of Discovery, Saguenay, which has a scenic setting on the edge of the majestic Saguenay Fjord. Returning to Nova Scotia, uncover history linked to the American Revolution in Sydney and call at Charlottetown on the island of Prince Edward, the setting for Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic novel, ‘Anne of Green Gables’. On the island of Newfoundland, explore Corner Brook on the west coast and St John’s on the east. The return journey includes a visit to Sao Miguel in the Azores, renowned for its scenic crater lakes and hot springs.
