Visby
A fantastic stopover on the island of Gotland, Sweden. The town of Visby is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Botanical gardens, cobblestone lanes, medieval churches all encircled by a 4km medieval wall complete with towers, makes for a fairly tale of a day.
Gotland attracts many artists and their handicrafts are sold in the local shops. They include ceramics and woollen items. Take your time, there are more than 200 buildings from the 12th to 14th centuries.
