Tortola
Today we were in the beautiful port of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, and a challenge for the team today as we were using the ship’s fitted tender boats. The vessel is fitted with a Dynamic Positioning system so the port allowed us to position up just off the berth, to conduct our tendering operations. Winds were heavy from the NE, but Spirit class vessels have plenty of manoeuvering power.
The pier was made available in the afternoon with the departure of the Norwegian Gem. We had to move the ship up towards the grounding line to give her adequate room to pass. We were alongside and gangway out by 1330 and afternoon tours were off and running.
A great coordinated effort by the shipboard team.
Kind Regards
