Milos and Katakolon

26th October, 2022

It’s been 10 years since I had last been in Milos and, until this morning, I was the only person on board who had previously been to Milos as it is not a port on a standard cruise chart. Beautiful, with a well-protected bay with a 5 minute tender drive. The weather was still perfect; a sunny day with almost no wind. A lot of guests and crew went ashore to explore this hidden gem. A lot of them ended up on one of the island’s amazing beaches.

Our next stop was Katakolon, a port that offers a tour to Olympia. Stefanos, the Pilot, told me how impressed he was with Spirit of Adventure with both her beauty and the quality of the build. I went ashore for lunch with Guest Services Director Diego to Stefanos’ tavern. Red mullet was recommended as they were this morning’s fresh catch.

On the way back to the ship I stopped in one of the shops, as I saw the same Greek goddess style dresses I bought for my wife years ago, only in different colours. I bought her wine red and Greek blue colours, which will be a nice addition to the black and white ones she already has.

Kind Regards
Captain Franko Papić
