Tromso

Saga Sapphire blog - Captains' blogs

17th February, 2019

What a difference a day makes, arrival into Tromso was in light NW’ly wind, and clear. Unfortunately, although we had great hopes of seeing the Aurora overnight when the storm had died down, the clouds refused to part until daylight was upon us so we didn’t see anything. Such a shame!

There were some fantastic trips in Tromso and nearly all were sold out. Reindeer sledding, Dog sledding, Sommaroy Island and the Polar Museum, and from all reports a fantastic day was had by all.

During the afternoon it started to snow, adding to the picture postcard feel of the area.

We departed on time at 1700 for Alta.
