After a comfortable passage in the 'lee' of the La Gomera and SE'ly shores of Tenerife, we shaped up for the Pilot embarking at 0700 - when almost in the port - it's the Canarias way!

Alongside promptly at 0730, it was nice to be back on the Island where I took so many holiday-home holidays, and the weather was fantastic to boot.

It's a great destination for excursions, whether doing one of the half day experiences or the longer tour up to Mount Teide, it's a great stop. The wind was still reasonably fresh but with 'shade-temperatures' around 22 degrees [72 F], it was awfully pleasant.

Some of our passengers also enjoyed just soaking up the sun lounging by the Beach Club.

I delayed departure until 2200, principally to allow the evening to be enjoyed in calm and pleasant conditions - and for the fabulous entertainment, the Big Band Sound, to be thoroughly enjoyed.

Dinner done and with the Britannia Lounge coming to a close, we slipped our moorings and headed out toward Las Palmas, Gran Canaria.
