10th December, 2016

After 4 days spent visiting some wonderful places, our guests were ready for a relaxing day at sea with a full programme of activities, including the Britannia Club party for our frequent cruisers.

However, Saturday saw us cruising into Agadir, Morocco at around 7.30am and as soon as the port authorities cleared the ship Cruise Director Kayleigh made her announcement so our guests could head ashore to enjoy this exotic destination in North Africa.

Our Shore Excursion’s team of Jacquie and Grazia dispatched a large number of guests ashore on tours, the most popular being ‘The Morocco Cultural Show’. Our guests on this tour had the opportunity to enjoy Andalusian music, belly dancing and other local entertainment as they sipped a glass of mint tea and tasted some Moroccan pastries.

Many returned back to the ship in time for a special barbecue lunch with the highlight being a suckling pig, beautifully prepared by our food and beverage team. Out on deck our guests could enjoy a complimentary glass of sangria wonderful food and music from the Perfect Mood duo and Saga Orchestra which made our sail away from Agadir very special.

Tonight we formally welcomed those guests that are new to Saga by hosting a Newcomer’s Cocktail Party.  It was especially nice to hear comments from the 133 guests new to our Saga family who are very much enjoying their cruise experience.

This evening’s dinner, arranged by Executive Chef George Streeter and his team, had a Highland theme and even featured traditional Haggis, Neeps and tatties.

Following this delicious dinner the evening entertainment saw international singer and comedian Paul Fredericks in the Britannia Lounge walk off to a standing ovation. The night continued with a solo cabaret from one of our Explosive Production Singers, Chloe performing her favourite songs from musical theatre to the swinging sixties in the Drawing Room keeping most up until the early hours.
