At Sea

Saga Sapphire blog - Captains' blogs

20th November, 2012

The weather for the last three days has been pretty awful. Since leaving the English Channel on the 18th we have corkscrewed our way towards the Azores. It is after all the middle of November and it shouldn’t be surprise to anyone that on balance we could expect to experience North Atlantic gales. However, I must say that the ship has handled the sea conditions extremely well. She has fine sea keeping qualities almost as good as our beloved Saga Rose!

Frontal troughs have been passing through like steam trains and at time we’ve been pressed by 60 -70 knot winds! So those of you at home following our progress should offer up a prayer for us here on the mighty ocean.

One thing is guaranteed, tomorrow is going to be calm and beautifully serene.
