Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs
18th October, 2018
Well, we arrived early into Barcelona getting the ship alongside by 1:30am on the 18th October, ready for our keen and eager Saganauts to go ashore early to explore this great city. Our hotel and entertainment team did a great job on our run down to the med to keep us all well fed and entertained and we had our Welcome Onboard Cocktail Party and formal dinner which was well attended by all, along with a great line up of entertainment every evening.
Barcelona is one of my favourite cities in the world and is always welcoming and generally good weather while I am there. Lots to see and do and many of our guests are on tour during our overnight stay here at our World Trade Centre downtown berth – I can see Las Ramblas from the bridge! It is also an opportunity for our crew to get some well earned shore leave and enjoy some tapas ashore!!
At midday we were ready to sail on the 19th and with all our guests onboard we left Barcelona with a short trip crossing the Gulf of Lions and aiming for the Italian Riviera and San Remo in Italy – also known as the city of flowers!
Full speed ahead…
