Bergen

Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

4th March, 2018

Bit of an early pilot this morning at 0530 – no rest for the wicked HaHaHa, but the weather conditions here in Bergen were perfect. We were nicely alongside our downtown cruise berth just before 8am and our keen as ever Red Army was anxious to get down the gangway after our nearly two days at sea. The weather and seas did indeed smooth out as we headed north and we had a great Captain’s Welcome Cocktail Party and dinner – my main course choice Beef – was amazing!!!!

Bergen is always a lovely place but it really was spectacular today with the sun glistening off the snow and no rain/snow (I have been here many times and it’s always rained!). Our tours included a Taste of Hardanger, Bergen City and the Funicular and Bergen for Art Lovers. Quite a few guests chose to explore, as my family travelling with me this cruise did, and they had a great day.

With all aboard – toot toot on the whistle and time to leave. Next stop Molde tomorrow, one of my favourites, and the weather up there looks very nice. See ya later……….
