Ibiza

Saga Pearl II blog - Captains' blogs

We had been watching the weather closely coming to Ibiza and with this in mind we decided on an overnight call here in Ibiza, and to leave tomorrow at 7am, when the weather is a bit calmer for our seaday up to Sete in France. A very much downtown berth here and perfect for our guests and crew to walk ashore and catch the ambience of Ibiza and what it has to offer.

Ibiza is the 3rd largest of the Balearics, behind Majorca and Minorca, and has also had a reputation for being the party island. However it really does have a balance between party and tranquillity, and where we are in the ‘old town’ region it is very quaint and relaxed in the harbour area.

Some nice tours on today and many of our guests and crew chose to explore by foot into the old town. I myself chose also to explore by foot, and found a McDonalds with Wi-Fi (how predictable!).

Overnight stay here as I mentioned, and tonight’s showtime was Seville Flamenco doing a live show – very exciting!!!

7am and after a nice night’s sleep it was time to leave. With the assistance of one tug we manoeuvred in the tight harbour and proceeded out of the port and made good for our route up to Sete France and eventually into the Gulf of Lions. Great stay here and hope to be back soon!!!
